Have just purchased some Elixir R brakes and I'm wondering whether I can use these with my existing G2 rotors from my old Juicy's.

I emailed Fisher who distribute Avid and they stated that due to the deeper braking track on the elixirs that the G2's are unsuitable however when putting the G2 rotors upto the Elixir pads they appear to be a reasonable match sizewise (width of pad V's width of rotor braking area).

Has anyone experience of this please??

Yeah I've got Elixirs with my old 185mm from my Juicy 5's and haven't experienced apocalypse. braking performance seems fine too.

G3 are thinner. If the G2's fit in the calipers without rubbing you should be fine.

The elixir set I bought from Merlin came with a rear G2. I couldn't be bothered to make to a fuss so stuck it on anyway, and I also didn't bring about the apocalypse and managed to brake without any problems.

I hope they are better than the juicy carbons I had, frickin' horrible piston-seizing monstrosities!
