Does anyone know if I can remove the lever blade from the rest of the lever with risk of losing any brake fluid? I have the Avid floppy lever syndrome but the brakes have only been blead recently and are in otherwise good nick. Don't want to have to drain and re-bleed the system if I don't have to.

Wouldn't bank on it, if you have to remove the circlip inside to release the offending gubbins, Sod's Law often comes into play and allows the piston to pop out.

Should be no problem from what I remember. I changed lever blades on both elixir r and elixir 5 without having to bleed the system.
