I have a new bike with Avid Elixir disc brakes, running a 180mm rotor on the rear. I have a spare Hayes 203mm rotor and an Avid 203mm caliper mount adaptor. The frame will take a 203mm rotor but are Hayes rotors okay to run with Avid brakes? I was going to buy a new Avid rotor but the cost (£48 on CRC) put me off.

Not sure if this is useful info but I've been running cheap shimano rotors (£6) with my hayes brakes for a while now with no problems.
If the thickness is not hugely different you should be fine.
