They've currently got a sale on, and I'm eyeing up one of their Gilets at around half price.

Any real-world experiences & reviews?

Cheers.

Nice one - I had ordered one of those at half prie from JE James recently, but they cancelled the order as out of stock

Just ordered a gilet at half price, with 10% off on top plus free shipping, delighted with that.

Opinions seemed positive on here when I ordered originally, few people had recommended them

Ordered a jersey - hope the sizing doesn't come up big as I was inbetween sizes 🙂

How do you get the extra 10% off?

I got one of the lightweight gillets a month or so back. Really pleased with the quality, fit and features. Well worth it at the sale price / discounted price from J E James, but I could not justify the full cost for it.

Good PSA - how is the sizing? As above, I am between sizes (M, L) - normally I would size up..but the cut looks quite baggy on the jerseys....

The reviews I've read suggest about spot-on in terms of sizing (gilet). But no experience yet. I tend towards a small in MTB-type gear and a medium in road gear. Have gone for the medium gilet.

Thumbs up for the most part. I really like the gilet.

i Have the light gilet. Fantastic bit of kit, very well made and comfy. Sizing was spot on. Not sure I’d pay full price but for half price it’s very good

I got the shorts in the sale. First time out in them today and pretty impressed. Good quality materials and a slim cut. I generally need medium, which these are, and fit is spot on.

Got my flint trail SS jersey this morning. Brilliant customer service as I initially ordered Large size and then after reading a couple or reviews decided to get medium so had to change order before dispatch which was done painlessly.

Glad I did as at 6ft and 80kg the M fits perfectly. Packaging is very Rapha and the feel of the jersey is of a well made piece of kit and a bargain at £33 - not quite warm enough to wear it on my commute home!

My two gilets arrived this morning, one light one warm. Obvs not ridden with them yet but sizing, fit and quality all excellent. Really pleased. Size L, 190cm tall, 88kg.

I'm pretty surprised by the sizing comments here, I sized up to be sure it would fit, and still found the fit way too tight for my liing, have to return it now which is a pain.

Mine (thermal gilet) arrived earlier in the week. Ordered a medium which is about right, but comfortable enough that a small might also have fitted me ok. Seems nicely made, first outing tonight so will report back later.

For my part I can say that Aussie Grit L is bang on the same size and slim-ish fit as Rapha L, which is what I was expecting.

First ride with the thermal gilet last night. Quality bit of kit. Paired with a LS base and LS jersey, was comfortable on a hard-working, fast, Gravel ride down to 0°c for the last half. Seems to breathe very well. Comfortable. Impressed!

An update on the shorts - still comfortable after a few rides, but I've realised that the short liner is not on a par with your normal bib shorts. In particular, they are not a compression type fit. The cold weather we've had this week has meant I've been wearing Roubaix thermal legwarmers which havnt stayed in place. A bit annoying, but I think they'll still be good summer shorts.

Thread resurrection - just to add that Aussie Grit's custoemr service is excellent, my gilet exchanged for a larger size with zero hassle (they sent the replacemnt before I had returned the original). Really quick and helpful folks. And the gilet is ace too.
