I need to fit a normal rear rack (not one of those QR I beam style racks) to my frame doesn't have rack mounts and I can't use the seat collar with rack mounts type due to the type of frame. So I'm want to attach the top rack mounts to the seatpost instead just above the seatpost collar.

I've googled and can't find any products to do this other the good old 'P' clip. Are there any products out there other than a 'P' clip?

Any help greatly appreciated

Get to a electrical wholesalers and get some steel wire armored cleats. pref "telecleats" as as they have a greater range of adjustability

Should be able to fit seat tube and seat stays

Let me know if you cant find any and I will sort you out

Edit these

Matt - to be honest a plastic coated P clip looks a lot better than that

Over active - they seem good. Are they plastic? If so are they strong? Might just well take you up on the offer if I can't find any easily

Yes plastic, very strong made to hold steel wire armored cable I have never seen one break (Prysmian brand not generic cheap crap)

My rack is held on the seatpost with a No4 if I remember correctly, looks quite neat and is non marking.

work out the size you need from the chart on that link and I will send you some for a charity donation next mountain rescue box you pass

That is amazing Over Active it's a 27.2 seatpost so crosses 2 sizes on the chart.

If you email me (email in profile as I can't see yours). I can see a well stocked mountain rescue box next time when I'm in the Lakes in a few weeks (always like to keep them well stocked over the years - came close to calling out the mountain rescue a few years ago after a climbing incident -got down without them but showed me personally the value of even having the option there!!)

Cheers again

GT used to make a rack adapter for their frames in about 1990.

I once used a mounting bracket from a light and ran a child seat on that - assuming it's not holding vertical load being the top mount it should be OK.

That said Prysmian are a reputable company and I would have though their cable cleats are pretty strong.
