Hi folks. I want to put a rack on the back of my saracen mantra.. never used a rack before so not quite sure where to start. It does seem to have eyelets top and bottom of the seatstays so i presume this is the mounting points? A lot of the racks im seeing for mtb's are attaching them to the dropouts but this isn't an option for me. can anyone give me some pointers.. i've attached a pic of the bike.
thanks

Thule Pack n Peddle rack will attach to almost any mtb
Yes those threaded holes are for attaching pannier racks altho it looks like the lower ones are fairly high. You might need to bend the stays slightly and space it out to clear the brakes( my preferred option) or use a disc brake specific rack (clunky IMO)
Racks come in cheap and cheerful (but not very strong) to tubus - the gold standard but at a cost tubus are rated to 50KG!
You often get a choice of 29er or 26 wheel versions - with those high mounting ponts you might want a 26" wheel version
Top mounts are adjustable, I prefer the type with round rods rather than flat strips
If you are anywhere near me ( edinburgh) I have a couple of spare ones for much cheapness and could fit it for you
Thanks for speedy replies! not really wanting to spend loads as won't be using it that often.. @tjagain, many thanks for the offer but im in greece at the moment so unfortunately not near you.I noticed this one which seems quite adjustable.. any thoughts?
