Aston Hill is renowned for being slippery when wet...
Ain't that the truth!

I feel sorry for the marshal, his arm must've been aching for days after having to wave that yellow flag so much.

Did they build that trail out of chalk?

It really is like an ice rink with braking bumps when it's wet

I would love to know how steep that is. Looked like me on a good day on Northern Monkey on W'fold!!

When Aston is even damp you need ice spikes 🙂

I only venture there when there is a hosepipe ban.

Yep, I was wondering about that too! Did it come off after too many hits?

I went there a couple of weeks back, and thought "If it rains, this must be tricky"....... 😉

It's not so bad, you just need to get your braking done before you turn in - and knowing all of the sneaky lines that square off the corners helps a lot 🙂

worst part is, I assume by the fact they've even entered they're considerably better than me.

It's a strange place Aston. I really like it there and spend 3 or 4 days a month riding the downhill runs. When it's really really wet it's not so bad and the grip levels come back. When it starts to dry it becomes lethal. Walking on it is hard enough.

It is a place that really improves your technical skills so when you go riding somewhere that actually has grip, it's a real joy. Not that i'm an astonishingly skilled rider anyway.
