My Situation....

Recently got rid of my Kona 5 0 to get something to cope with roots and a more comfortable ride over drops. I have been looking specifically at the orange patriot as i feel drawn to orange bikes because of the name but the research i have done proves that this bike would be ideal for freeride and the odd little bit of xc.

The problem is i dont know what other bike to look at, i only have a small budget as going through a house move less tban 500. Or if just a frame less than 200.

For the price im looking at i know its going to be a few years old, can any put forward any other worthy contenders?

Im a 6ft 1 rider so 18" is the size im looking for....

Good luck getting a patriot at that money that isn't older than the hills or properly knackered. Maybe a 4-5 yr old kona stinky?

I'm selling a Mongoose Khyber frame: http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1246549/

Other bikes worth considering are Giant Reign, Marin Quad 140 (few different models with same frame) or Quake (less XC suitable)

A stinky is a bit full on for xc
