I am off to River Dart Country Park next weekend.
Does anyone have any suggestions for routes from the park?
Some places have said that Holne and Henbury woods have some good trails>
Thanks for any suggestions

Big peaks bike shop in ashburton do organised rides on Thursday evenings I understand. RDCP has Hembury Woods to the side of it - if you can find the Fort there is a nice little downhill we called the Slalom that snakes down to the river, although I'm not sure on the legalities...

dcl, are you plymouth based? a group of us ride from B&Q carpark tues/thurs evenings and sun mornings and a few odd times in between, pace is very relaxed with emphasis on pisstake. we could possibly show you a few routes you don't know around the area.

mail in profile.

Thanks Carl I am local to Plymouth and know a fair few trails.
I will try and make it out one evening but tend to ride mainly with my daughter as the isn't a club set up for her in PLymouth yet. We travel to Newton Abbot for a club for her!
How long do you ride for and do you carry on riding through the winter?
You never know I might be able to show you guys some trails!

you probably could show us some routes!
Normally we only ride for a few hours each time, rain or shine and through the winter, its normally just a few of us razzing around cann woods/local area but most weeks we'll do a few hour xc loop.
Most of our loops start at plympton, lopwell dam, double waters, wembury coastpath, dewerstone, etc etc
we are meeting up at haldon on friday evening for a cheeky trail ride.

as for clubs what sort of riding do you do? long xc rides or mucking about on trails? have you tried the YOGI's tuesday night group are fairly steady and pretty friendly. the thursday group are slower but fun, however they have a convoluted way of meeting up then driving somewhere else to ride which doesn't suit me at all.

get in touch if you fancy meeting up at some point.
