Anyone use one of those metal Asgard bike sheds?

I'm considering getting one as it's cheaper than where I currently keep my bikes long term.

I'm a bit concerned about the condensation, cold and general constant damp of winter reducing my beloved gnar-sleds to a corroded mess though.

What are they like during the winter for keeping the bikes healthy? Anything you do to improve things such as insulating the structures?

An Asgard bike shed recently.

Cheers.

I've had one for over 18 months, not had any issues with condensation, damp, mould or anything like that so far. I just make sure I give everything thing a wipe down after any bike washing and a quick lube of the chain before putting the bikes away.

If you do get one, get it this week on Black Friday. Screwfix appear to be the cheapest seller, by a mile.

I've got one of the big ones that can take 2 motorbikes, garage sized. Zero condensation issues.

Good to hear about condensation.

I've looked at Screwfix, but unless I'm missing something, they seem to be cheaper directly from Asgard?

No issues with mine. I hear cat litter in a sock does a good job of absorbing moisture. Not tried it myself.

A pic of mine, in case you were ever tempted by a big one 😉

Worth every penny IMO.

That would be amazing, but we have a yard, the size of.....well, about the size of a small Asgard shed.. 😂

We get stuff rusting in ours but it can rust in the main shed too.

Biggest problem is when we get fog - it's 100% moisture and that condenses out. In the main shed I just check the bikes every so often and put some oil on the chains.

Got the same one as ta11pau1, I've ply lined the walls which seems to have reduced condensation, it's brilliant, can't recommend it highly enough. Pedalcover insure it too which is a plus over timber sheds.

Do you put them together yourselves?

I've had the same four bike locker as pictured in the op for 5 years and no issues of condensation.

Wet bikes and even wet backpack and helmet hung on the hooks at the back, there is reasonable air flow through the unit whilst still being secure (although where it was sighted may have been a windy spot).

It was a two man job to build, mainly to fit the lid, the sides and floor are doable on your own. Make sure it's properly level on a sturdy base otherwise the lid can bind and a drill/driver with the correct bits will prove their worth!

Best decision I've made buying it, wouldn't consider storing the bikes anywhere else.

I still need to fit some rubber flooring and at some point I'll line the walls/roof with some thin celotex lining. I've had mine now for 2 years, I might get around to it next year... 😀

Quite a few motorbike insurers class it as a garage which is very good and reduces insurance.

The big ones are 100% a 2 man job.

2 men, large erection, lots of screwing, big job.

It's a bit confusing as they have two models which appear to be the same size and sold for 3 bikes, but with different levels of security. From what I can see, the Annexe is £630 direct, and the Addition is £500 direct or £405 from Screwfix . Did you find different prices ?

No, not different prices I don't think but yeah, the models are a bit confusing between the sites.

I get a bit of condensation in mine, but nothing too severe. It’s the tall, narrow shed one with a wall bracket for the bike. Great bit of kit and a worthwhile investment.

I had planned to pop some Kingspan/Celotex under the lid to reduce condensation but a couple of years on I've had no real problems. I have seen condensation after sudden weather changes, but it's on the floor not the bikes, so no harm done.
