I'd love to buy another Asgard bike shed, but I need one sooner than the current 3 to 4 month lead time. Can anyone recommend a similar alternative product, equally secure and long lasting, takes 3-4 bikes and less than £800? I'd rather steer clear of the speculators who are profiteering on ebay.

I've no idea what the security ratings are but surprisingly Argos have a stock of metal sheds. I don't know whether you can view them anywhere but maybe worth a punt if you need one in short order

I know it's less practical but I saw a huge metal tool storage chest thing at work recently and it made me think of bike storage. It would be top loading but looked way stronger than traditional options.

Can't say I've seen it used for a bike application but it was big enough to lift a bike into. It was similar to these but looked like it didn't require somethign as extreme as a forklift https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262408245167?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ua4htPRmQxq&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=OddA2fjXSqO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

This too big for what you’re after? We’re looking for generic site storage in an area where we can’t get a shipping container dropped in, and had a look at this type of thing.

Metal container

Stay clear of those Argos metal sheds.
They come without a base so water seeps in.
They are so thin and flimsy, I'd compare them to Meccano.
They rust.
The doors are stiff to slid open.
The doors only have plastic handles to put a padlock through so effectively no security.

I had one but it was awful, got as Asgard now and there is no comparison, you get what you pay for, which is why the Argos ones are cheap.

Is it all Asgard sheds with delay in waiting time or just some? I am looking for one in the next few months but isn't obvious from the site which ones might have delivery delays.

@ditch_jockey those flat pack containers look like just what i'm after for more secure garden storage - have you had experience of them? if so what are they like for security, build quality etc?

@sofaboy73 - no hands on experience yet. Like you, I think they look/sound perfect for what we're after at work, but we'll be taking a punt if we buy one! I was sizing one up for bike storage at home as well, although I might spend my employer's money first before I commit my own cash 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions.
@ctk The Lockerpod gold is the only viable alternative, though it is a ugly hulk which makes the Asgard even more appealing.

@tenacious_doug it's all Asgard sheds which are 12-14 weeks lead time. I rung them and they said everything is currently made to order. No plans to step up production.
