Hello

I have a SC blur LT, and it creaks like mad now......

SO i grease all bearing, and the suspension link, link for the
fox shock, with some litihum grease i had.

also greased:

headset
pedals and the crank arms threads
bottom bracket bearings(race face atlas) but i could, not grease
the bb threads, as i could not find my HTII spanner... but the
bearings had plenty grease,
saddlepost
saddlerails
seatclamp
lubed x 9 shifter
bolt through CK rear wheel threads greased

Still same creaking .....

Fill in if i forgot something....

-Maybe i should check for cracks in the frame tomorrow!

you probably just need to tighten your bottom bracket, especially if youve got a 68mm shell and are running them with those terrible nylon spacers.

My cranks creaked for a while before I realised I just needed to tighten them a bit.

A pal of mine has a Blur 4X and has had to replace the swingers in the top linkage (the grey bits that link the swingarm to the shock to the frame a couple of times. Assuming they're similar (they look a bit different in pics) on the LT then they are made in 2 parts, the swinger itself and a SS sleeve. The sleeve should not move in the swinger, my pal's issue has been the sleeve has become slightly loose (you can twist it out by hand). This metal on metal twisting makes for a very annoying creak.

VPP creaking has been covered a fair bit over on the mtbr forum. Assuming it isn't breaking our forum rules, here is a link to the most relevant post:

What about greasing the bolts holding the chainrings?

If it's a Blur LT2 I have had two lots of creaking and clicking on mine.

Clicking turned out to be Truvative BB failing. Just about to be replaced for second time under warranty. Second in 10 months

Creaking turned out to be a failed eye bushing at the bottom end of the shock. Replaced under warranty

on a simpler note, the last 2 times my blur xc has developed a creak it has been:
1. needed to put a bit of grease in between stem and handlebars
2. needed to clean out the top cap of the king headset

Check the lower shock bushing isn't worn out and that the bolts that hold that part of the assembly together aren't loose.
