About reached the point of throwing the 29x3.0 Chupacabra's in the bin, not because I don't like them but more the fact that for the love of god I can't get them to seal again tubeless! I'm sure first time around it wasn't this bad and just popped them into place using a compressor with the valve stem out. But now, having had the old tire off to replace a broken spoke, can I get them to re seat, can I ****......
So am I incapable or is refitting a used oldish Chupacabra mission impossible.....?
Tried the tying a strap around the circumference of the tyre trick?
Removed all the old sealant from the tyre bead and rim bed?
Checked if you need new rim tape?
Tried putting a tube in for 24 hours then remove to leave one side seated? to
And if they’ve stretched then more tape on the rim might help.
Thanks for the replies, they do seem to have stretched and felt more floppy when I put them back on. I tried the strap around the tire trick but they just far too floppy for it to work.
The rim tape is new and the full width of the rim ending on the inner radius, so I've ruled that out.
Interesting idea about sticking a tube in over night, that gives me some possible light at the end of this dark tunnel lol.
First I'll take the tire off again and clean it up better, I think you're right ChunkyMTB, maybe some of the old sealant bits are holding the tire off etc.
Just for closure, cheer Cheezpleez, sticking a tube in overnight worked first time just like you said, so happliy tubeless again thanks, top tip.
