Right. I've got some Sks chromoplastics and I'm in the process of fitting them to my arkose 3.
All well and good on the rear, with a little dremmel fettling for front mech clearance.

The front however... No chance that's going on with the riveted l-bracket, there's nowhere near enough clearance with that in place. What in shitting hell's name am I supposed to use instead?

Under the fork crown there should be a threaded hole, so remove the bracket, drill a small hole in the mudguard and bolt to the underside. (or at least that's how my 4 works!)

How old is your Arkose 3?
If it is a 2016 model (matt black) it should have a regular mounting hole in the fork.

Or drill 4 holes in the mudguard, then put a couple of zip ties around the fork crown.
More clearance than the proper bracket, and less rattly.

Well, I've found no threaded hole. Just a hole and a massive load of nothing behind it. If I get a torch out and look,at it just right I can see the sfn at the top of the head tube.
Am I missing a component?

@B_leach ,at least you had a hole in your forks !!
I had no holes or anything in my arkose forks and then they said the bike was cheaper because of this but they failed to mention it when I bought it !!
Ended up using either double sided tape or Velcro to hold the top of the guard in place ,worked ok really for a bodge !

Can you drill anther hole in the bracket to improve the clearance?

SFN - so it's an alu steerer fork right? Photo of the hole would be useful as there was a small batch that missed the holes, the rest had an M5 insert there.

Yeah, you'll notice my failed attempt on an image from the last post.

It's a 2016 matte black arkose 3 for those that asked.

Jameso, it's definitely an alloy steerer. Something tells me the insert just isn't in my forks. Unless you need longer than a 40mm m5 bolt. Odd eh?

All looks as normal there - 2016 bike has a normal hole at the front and rear of the crown, easier to use that with the SKS L-bracket.

+1.
Those forks look the same as mine - you can see the indentation in the rear of the crown where the hole will be drilled.
I used a length of M5 stainless studding with a dome nut on each end as I couldn't find a bolt long enough.
You'll also need to file a bit off the 'L' bracket on your front mudguard so it fits neatly into the indentation on the back of the fork.

You'll also need to bend the stays as they use the low-rider mounting points halfway up the fork.

Not difficult to do a neat looking job though.
