I've found some 987 XTR levers in the parts box & was wondering if i could mate the with some 8020 4 pot XT calipers?
The standard XT's & 4 Pots both seem to have the same lever so i figured Shimano brakes must have a standard amount of fluid movement for a given lever pull.
Any ideas?
Short answer Yes...
I'm running all sorta of mixes including 7120 calipers and 7000/8000 levers ... and have lots of 68x/785 mixed with 7000/8000
Some debates have been had over servo-wave and non... arguing exact fluid movement but the upshot was it works anyway.
I'm running XTR levers with saint calipers... works a treat.
I'm running road brake levers with xt calipers and I'm still alive.
prove it

Actuals?
If you could that would be great. I've wondered about the possibility of doing this for a long time. Many thanks.
**sorry, 'actuals' is teen speak for 'actually' or something like that.
Not sure what the levers or calipers are but they are from 2016. Standard shimano hydraulic 11 speed levers and xt calipers. Done 1000s of miles like this in West Yorkshire which is pretty hilly!
This might be a kiss of death but never had to bleed them either! On 2nd set of pads.
I'm sure someone else will know.
