So I'm interested in a bike on evilbay but it's at the other end of the country and is 'collection only'.

Trying to negotiate with the seller to organise my own courier - are Paisley Freight still the best deal?

If I get a bike box sent to the seller will they have to pack it or can the freight guy help/pack it?

Normally I'd drive but don't fancy a 400 mile round trip.

It has to be boxed before they arrive. Where in the UK is the bike- someone might be able to help?

Thanks.
Will see if I can get seller to sort out boxing up.
It's in Exeter and I'm in Staffordshire.

Paisley are good but already said it will need to packaged. Think postage prices start at about £24 But this doesn't give you much cover if there is any damage. If the bike is of a high value and you really want it then it might be worth the trip.

Had a bit of faff with Paisley Freight a few months ago although things worked out fine in the end. I entered instructions for collection as requested on the website (to collect the parcel from a secure location in my garden) but the instructions didn't copy on to the instructions sent to the driver. He called me when he was at my door looking for the parcel but I missed the call as I was in a meeting at work. Managed to call him back but he was 15 minutes away and couldn't return due to the other items he had to collect and said he was not made aware of the pick up instructions. I phoned Paisley Freight who advised this was a known issue as the pick up instructions don't pull through onto the instructions for the driver - I had not option but to re-book collection for a time I'd definitely be in. When I got home thought the parcel was gone - mild panic - and it turned out the driver had managed to return and collected it. The bike arrived safely at the other end and their price was competitive.

I just used this service.

https://cyclesent.co.uk/product/delivery-service-including-box/

They sent a good box, take the front wheel off chuck the bike in, fill with whatever packing you he stashed and the its picked up the next day for next day delivery.

The actual couriering is done by APC
