Ive seen a good offer on a carbon seatpost but Im not sure how strong carbon is compared to an alloy one.
Im 110 kgs ... would you consider a carbon post at this weight? its for a full susser.
Cheers
Steve
light, strong, cheap, pick two.
Carbon, Alu, Steel is irrelevant.
its an easton post so made by a well known company.
check if there's a weight limit on the post. If there isn;t or you're within it then you'll be fine.

This is all you need to know.
Except when something's reduced, or has a weight rating, so it's guff here.
Its an Easton EC70
Are these any good?
Using a CarbonCycles one, 102kg (and falling).., fitted to a HT.
Seems fine.
I have one on my road bike and it's been fine (I weigh 85kg's).
carbon is strong enough for you weight, but the material is irrelevant.
it comes down to the quality and purpose.
look up reviews of the post and see who it's intended for and any issues from consumers.
I've just bought a new carbon post and spent twice as much as I could have based on quality and reviews. Some of the cheaper posts either use old designs or designs that have proven to be "questionable".

I've just bought one of them after extensive web trawling - I noticed the older models were on offer but went for a newer version for aesthetic reasons.
Easton have a very good rep for carbon.
