.....for wheel building?
I'm gonna build my first wheel using the wheelpro guide. The guide and general internet surfing suggest using 12mm nipples for standard rims (of which i'll be using).
Chainreaction sell spokes in 36's which is mighty handy, although they come with 14mm nipples. I know that with the larger nipples, spoke length is reduced - but are there any other pros/cons in using the 14mm? Should i just go for it or are there retailers that are equal in price supplying their spokes with 12mm nipples?
It'll make precisely no difference. Just account for it in the spoke length as you mention.
CRC are about the best for spoke prices (at least dt swiss ones). if you use the dt swiss calcualtor you can specify the nipple size and it adjusts spoke lengths accordingly.
Excellent,. cheers, case closed.

Except for the fact that odds are you'll probably have 4 different spoke lenghts taking into account the dish of both wheels with disc hubs. Which will probably leave you with something in the region of 72-80 spare spokes depending on whether you build up 32 or 36 hole. Figure out exactly which rims & hubs you're using & then find an online spoke lenght calculator before committing to buying spokes in those numbers.
the wheels I've built have used 2 different spoke lengths for a pair.
In reality, with most common hubs and rims you can actually build each wheel with the same length spokes on each side - the dish/offset/etc only makes 1 or 2mm difference which is really not an issue.

For future reference Frank, you can specify different lengths within the 36 you buy. Just give CRC a call.
@dizcostix - Didn't know that. May make future wheel builds a lot easier to manage.
