A friend of mine just sold a bike and needs to post it from the South East up to Scotland, are any couriers actually doing this at the moment? All the usual suspects have said the box is too big!
Thanks in advance.

Paisley Freight, sent a large fat bike recently no problems. Also reasonable “bike box” prices.

Try Parcelforce, I shipped a frame recently with them.
Hermes etc would not accept due to dimensions but Parcelforce were fine and good value if you take to a Post Office or depot.

Recently sold a bike and the buyer had Parcel Force collect it, and the box was BIG.

I sent a frame and fork in a small bike box just recently via parcelforce, no stress. Hermes won't do it but it might be OK enough for Hermes Large and Light, which weirdly they don't sell themselves but you can access through parcelmoney or parcel2go.

TBH I'd just put the details into those 2 websites and see what happens.

I shipped a bike from the North East to the south coast just before Christmas with https://www.bikedelivery.co.uk/

Hardest part was getting hold of a bike box (which wasn’t that hard, really).

I picked up a large bike box from Halfords and posted a full bike in it via Parcel Force 48 to Scotland a couple of months ago with no problems.
Took the bars of at the stem and wrapped them in bubble wrap down the side of the spokes. Put the front wheel down the non drive side, again well padded. Slammed the seat post with dropper down. Left the rear wheel in.

Parcelforce's service status indicates they're not taking large parcels currently: https://www.parcelforce.com/coronavirus

Paisley or bikedelivery (same thing) will take it via APC or Hermes.
