Or at least ridden one?

Very light carbon frame with 135mm rear and capacity for a 160mm fork.

Short stays and long reach. But not much around in terms of reviews.

I've got an Extra Air, so not quite the same but in the same wheelhouse. Really it's the successor to the Extra ST, which has the frame from the original Extra but with rear travel reduced.

With the short stays, it's a very playful bike for its length. This is something I'm very fond of, I had an Evil before. But it's a much longer bike than my Evil and has a higher stack so is faster when it gets rough. I like it a lot. The suspension is more taught off the top than my Evil but still comfortable.

The low weight is so good - mine is more pleasant to throw around, hike a bike and ride uphill than any other bike of the same travel. The rear end looks very delicate and I don't think it's the stiffest but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

They are, because of the geometry and the weight, a bit less capable than other bikes of similar travel. So the Extra Air is more like a very long travel trail bike than a full blown enduro bike which may make it more suitable for what you want than the ST.

That's great info thanks. I have been looking at a Pivot switchblade frame. Then I've seen the ST frames at a great price. There an ex demo Extra Air or Coil even cheaper (£4k)... Although it's the earlier version without the rail. That might pair nicely with a 160mm fork.

Yeah, if you get the earlier version you can basically turn that into a current ST by shortening the shock stroke. So if they're much cheaper I'd go for that rather than an ST.
