Anyone got one? I am thinking that I would like to try a frame back for when I'm bikepacking. I was looking at one of the Apidura 6L ones and tried the clever 'drop a photo of the bag over a pic of your bike' software things on their site. I also downloaded the template so I could hold it up to the frame to see how it fitted.
The photo option looked like the 6L bag pretty much filled the frame. The paper template showed that it left loads of room. I'm assuming that the template would be more accurate. The bag looked a LOT smaller using the template, to the extent where I was wondering if I could still fit a bottle in the cage on the frame downtube (which would be a good thing). FWIW my frame is a medium PX Tempest.
Does anyone have any experience and could advise? I've seen the test in STW where Amanda had one on her Tempest but that was a small frame.
The template is more accurate as long as you’ve printed it out correctly.
I looked at them and realised the handlebar bag was the same capacity and meant I could still take 2 water bottles normally. Quite happy with my choice with the handlebar extension bag then strapped to the main bag for the little odds and ends
