My new road bike arrived on Friday but it's been torrential rain since. Looks like the week ahead is dry but cold which means salted roads. Never had a road bike before but I fear that salt is not good for it so thinking of spraying it all over with something like FS365.
However, I don't have any and it's not the easiest thing to get hold of. I could go across city to their place tomorrow but I should be working all day. Is there anything else like this that is more easily available in Halfords or somewhere like that?
Any other advice on me not ruining a lovely new bike in its first week of life?
I'd have thought most motorcycle shops should stock FS365.
Other than that - Halfords probably stock some of the WD40-branded rust-inhibitor products* (not WD40 itself obviously) which should keep your bike alive until FS365 turns up (the ebay shop delivers promptly).
* something like this: http://wd40specialist.com/products/corrosion-inhibitor/
WD40 or GT85 are readily available and will prevent corrosion. ACF50 is an alternative to FS365 (a rather sticky one) but you may not find it stocked locally. Otherwise there are various 'bike spray' type stuffs, muck off do one, you should find in Halfords cycle dept.
