Ordered a gravel bike off Ribble back in February.
Given a delivery date of the 17th May.
Heard nothing, contacted them and they said just waiting for a QC check.
2 weeks later still nothing.
Starting to piss me off now.
Friend of mine had similar. He waited a long time for his order. Date was rescheduled twice and he cancelled. TBF their comms were pretty good.
They have just messaged me with the same thing they told me 2 weeks ago.
They should not of taken orders they can't fulfil.
Mine was due 2 weeks ago. I was initially impressed with their comms, receiving occasional update emails reconfirming the expected date, but now that date has passed I've not heard a thing. I'm considering how much longer I'm prepared to wait; I'm a fair weather rider so If I don't get it soon then it's not going to see much use this year.
Presumably they knew/ thought they knew the frames would be in stock on that date and didn’t think there would be an issue sourcing drivetrain/brakes.
I’m guessing Shimano supply is the issue which is obviously out of their hands.
What’s completely out of order is telling you it’s awaiting QC if they don’t physically have it.
I'm waiting, due September, do get periodic emails saying the same thing.
They are probably hoping some people will cancel their order so they have enough for those who are left.
Ordered CGR Ti sport Nov 3rd, delivery date of late January. Had lots of emails changing date, now 25th June! Did consider canceling but nothing else comparable in stock anywhere else.
If you cancel your order be prepared to go to the back of a very long queue if you order something else now. I ordered 30k of bikes last week, some expected in September the rest fingers crossed from spring 22. We managed to get a couple of bikes to sell in the shop last week & that was because the shop originally ordering them couldn't pay for them and they went back into stock at the distributor.
Oh yes. Ordered a CGR 725 in GRX spec back in December with original build date in January. That quickly slipped to the end of May. Their communication was good so under the circumstances I sat tight.
The due date was getting close and I started to get emails coming through that the build was due so I thought brilliant, here we go! Due date came and went, over a week after it was due (I gave them time to build/pack/ship the bike) I had another email saying the build date had now slipped another month.
Frustrated now and starting to consider if I really want it, which is daft considering how long I've been waiting!
It’s a lottery at the moment to order a bike from anywhere ! Ribble do offer good value I’d order and happily wait however long in the current climate.
It does grind that they take payment in full at time of order (flip-side is, I assume I'm protected from price rises ?)
A woman I know was off to collect in person from Ribble when restrictions lifted last month , just happened to check her emails and lo and behold one from Ribble saying the build was delayed, cue one sigh of relief over a potential wasted journey, although like everyone else it has been ordered for months with updates saying it was on target.
My neighbour ordered a gravel Ti frame and then decided to order the whole build. 3 weeks from change of order to delivery. He was well impressed as he fully expected to have to wait. It really is a lottery.
Hold the front door!
Just taken delivery of a bike box from Ribble, even though the last email I recieved said it wasn't due until 2nd if July!?
Too nervous to open it in case it isn't mine😂
I'm still waiting (CGR AL, 105 level). I used the live chat to get an update and was given a new date of last Friday which passed by and I've just received an email suggesting a new date of the end of this week. I hope I'm wrong but it looks like they are pushing the date back a week at a time. To be fair they did try call me on Friday but I missed the call. I'm resigned to waiting given the lack of available alternatives and at least having something ready to go in Spring 2022.
update... Bike arrived today, so only 3 or 4 weeks later than the date initially given. Bike arrived well packaged and in good condition. It was a bit of a surprise when I received the delivery notification as I'd chosen to collect in store and not paid for delivery.
Not Ribble but Sonder. Ordered and paid for a bike early April. Slated build w/c mid May, delayed until 20odd of June and again until late July. Have cancelled and since bought an Orbea Laufey. Issue was with Sram ref supply of Rockshox forks so clearly it extends across brands. Not much Sonder or anyone else can do in that regard.
