...and won’t mind me tagging along?
Been living in east London for the past while, trying to get back into riding but don’t know anyone that rides in this end of the country!
Anyone riding at Swinley/Surrey Hills/South Downs/Chicksands/Aston Hill/etc tomorrow (Sunday) that wouldn’t mind showing me around?
Ta, Duane
(I have a car so am pretty flexible on location)
London is big, dude ....
Where in the east?
Epping isn't too far.
Hadleigh doable by train.
Surrey Hills is fairly easy to get to.
Hello Duane
I'm in north London & ride Epping fairly often when it’s not a bog. Unfortunately I have to “work” tomorrow ,so I’m riding around there(northHerts) in my dinner “hour”* 😉 . Happy to show you some Epping stuff in future as & when convenient.
If you fancy an explore have a look in the map for broxbourne/wormley woods ,up the lea valley.
* I’d invite you to that but not sure what time I’ll get out.
Alpin - East Village/Stratford.
I have a car so happy to drive, just keen to meet people to ride with around these parts!
Senor j - thanks will get in touch about Epping!
Thanks,
Duane.
East Village is the old Olympic Village, right? How is it? It's an amazing location!
There used to be an Epping Forest riding thread but all of my favourites have been wiped...
OP, Lee valley bike park on your doorstep, canals and river Lee both rideable either up to Epping or down to Woolwich Tunnel and across to Abbey Wood.
Small pump / BMX track in Mile End park, bigger one in Hackney.
Train from Stratford will take you to Benfleet, and then to Hadleigh
Hog Hill / Hainault park has some riding although not been.
I'm out a few times each week, on a MTB and live down by Canary Wharf. Email in profile if you want to get in touch? Whatever you do, it all needs a bit of peddling !!
Shermer - yep, it's alright!
Thanks all. I guess I should have made my OP clearer. Yes, based in East London, and aware of stuff nearby, but was/am keen to travel a little further to ride "better" trails. I have a car so getting around is fine. Happy to drive 1.5hours from where I am, which means a lot of decent spots are within range. I'm just trying to find some locals to ride with at these spots!
I headed to Swinley today with a couple guys, good fun!
Thanks,
Duane.
I'm a couple of tube stops away in Wanstead; regularly ride up to Epping Forest which is great when you learn enough of the many decent bits. I'm not around tomorrow but will keep an eye on this thread.
