I like the feel of the XR4's on my SS So am wondering if an XR3/XR2 combo might be a good xc racing combo to replace a Nic/Ralph combo?
Race on XR1 2.2 front and 2.0 rear in the dry and XR2 up front if its damp.
A 4 and 3 on the trail bike for general duties.
Yes, been running that combo tubeless all summer on both the geared Ti 456 and the rigid SS Pace 104 - all at 2.35. I really rate Bonty tyres, and this combo gives me real confidence on the front end and enough grip at the rear.
Used to run NN/ NN on the Ti 456 and the Bonty combo is much, much better - just feels much more planted.
Now that the slop is here, I've swapped out the rear XR2 for the usual Mud X and its still great!
So for wet loam, aka not slop the xr2 would be ok on the rear? This is primarily for Thetford btw.
Run XR3 on my xc bike in the summer,XR2 were ok but a bit scary on my local terrain
