Aaaah CRC have put up the price of Ardents by nearly £10 over night so now looking for alternatives...
Has anyone use the Specialized 29ner Captains? What are they like and what size do they come up in the real world, their old 26" tyres used to be huge so wondering if these are similar.
I have a set on my 29er Rockhopper. I've always found them very good as an all round tyre. Only just taken them off for the winter though as Mud X are better for the proper mud i have to ride in.
They are a decent width but not massive, certainly bigger than the Mud X 2" but a fair bit smaller than the 2.25 Nevegals i also run. I'd say they are bang on 2" but i know some spesh tyres do come up big.
Next day tyres may still have the 29er Ardents at £25 posted but if you want the Captains i got mine at Cyclestore which included free tubes if i recall.
Got some 2.0 Captains - never ridden although one fitted TL that I was going to put in the classifieds this weekend.
