Anyone using rim brakes on Fulcrum carbon rims?

Specifically the 3D Diamante treated rims.

I've been covetously eyeing up the Carbon Racing Zeros as my dream wheelset, I get on really well with the Racing 3s so a lighter + stiffer + pimpier version of the same seems quite appealing.

However I've seen comments about squealing brakes even in the dry, which take time to bed in (pads and rims) and only get 'a bit quieter' afterwards.

That would be enough to convince me to save the money and take the hit on weight by just buying the aluminium Racing Zero to be honest...

Any experiences?

Not got the Fulcrums but did have the Campag Bora Ones with the 3D Diamante brake track

No squealing coming from my brakes using the Campag red carbon brake blocks

I now have the Campag Bora One Ultras with the AC3 brake track witht Campag red carbon brake blocks

They have some light squeal but my god they are the best carbon rim brakes ive ever had!

Lovely!

I need to compare with the Boras, I can't get my head around mixing Campag and Shimano on one bike but had convinced myself that the Bora and the Racing Zero Carbon were effectively the same wheel anyway...

Yeah cant have Campag on a Shimano equipped bike!

Campag make Fulcrum wheels for that exact reason (although you can get Shimano frehubs for campag wheels)

They are not quite the same wheels though, the carbon racing zero are more climbing orientated and have 30mm depth rims, Bora one's come in 35 & 50mm depths, the racing zero's are lighter

Hubs are the same, USB ceramic coated bearings, cup and cone
