They look on the surface fantastic, £18 a year buy in and 9-10p/L off fuel
What are the down sides bar habit to go to a fuel card registered garage?
Who's that with any links....
I work in fuel supply and I'm not convinced that's fully legit, or you'll be tied to a bunker site somewhere
Am I doing my maths correctly? After filling my 50 litre tank for the fourth time, I'm saving money?
Seems too good to be true.
was from a call from uk fuels? coverage looks ok in sheffield and surrounding area
Tell me more tell more, you have a link OP.
EDIT: Cheers.
I used to do this for a job, building diesel fuel stops and developing commercial diesel cards. The only catch I can think of is that some places will be commercial truck stops that will be filthy, so just stick to the forecourt petrol stations and you'll be fine. And just keep tabs on what they're charging you and that it remains inline with price fluctuations or in your favour.
they claim to review weekly and update but beat forecourts by 9p

Just goes to show how much profit they're making nowadays.
ukfuels reckon they buy it 20p/litre cheaper than forecourt
I've used a UK Fuels card for a couple of years now. I got it through Motorsport UK as I'm an Official for them. It does save money, especially if you try to avoid filling up with supermarket fuels which don't have the same quality of additives. I reckon that I'm at least as cheap filling up at the nearby Esso, or Gulf stations as using Morrisons or Asda. I get 0.5ppl off Tesco too.

This was a thing in the early 1990s when I was involved, so 30 years or more, it's not something they've just thought up. View it instead like a Trade account at trade prices, so like 30days credit and a 7% trade discount, not dissimilar to a plumber having a trade account at their local plumbers merchants and me paying cash over the counter at full retail price.
The other thing that's worth looking into is whether any of your local fuel oil depots have their own storage and diesel pumps and sell to the public at trade/commercial price. There's definitely one near me in Skipton because during the fuel shortage last year, there was a massive queue outside everyday
I just had a look at the local fuel stations to me. All of them are the most expensive places to buy fuel. Most are in the region of 10p per litre more than others in town. 15p compared to the supermarkets.
Unless there is something I’m missing all you would be doing is restricting where you can buy fuel at above the local price, even taking in to account the price reduction.
I've got a Fuelpecker card. It's 4p discount for diesel and 6p for super diesel with no subscription charges. Esso sites only, (or standard 1p for Shell) but it works well.

That's what i had in mind above, you'd need to track their prices, because it would depend on what their source is. Is it national average retail published by the trade, regional average, against the price at the pump of the individual petrol station you filled up at or some other measure.
I can get one of my Fuel card lot to give you a shout n check it over if you want as a favour.
I'm on bulk supply not cards so know a little but not a lot about them.
Truck stops ain't filthy but you probably struggle as the pumps n nozzles are faster/bigger
Thnaks for all the info, will give it a miss i think cheers
