No the bad weathers here to stay it's become blatently obvious my Ardent Race is now a liability and looking to change it. I ran a DHF/HR2 (both 3C) combo last winter and it was great but by god is it slow! No the question is stick with maxxis or try something else?
I haven't run Nobby nics for a few years, has one tried the Addix ones yet? Any good? Riding is a mix of trail centres and natural trails with a good mix of mud and rocks. I'd like to keep a pretty decent level of grip but want something a little faster than the DHF/HR2. Go for the Nics or are there any others worth checking out?
I'm running one on the front of my 29HT in Speedgrip 2.35 flavour. I like it! Decent amount of grip and volume, but I wouldn't say it's that different from it's predecessor (which can now be had for half price)
I ride it on the south downs. Mix of winter mud, chalk, farm tracks and around the roots and mud of Stanmer. Works well and clears well on most things but clogs on clay.
