I’ve been using Cushcore pro with Exo+ for a year and found them to be a good combination in terms of suppleness and puncture protection, even in really puncture prone areas.
I’m wondering how they might work in combination with even more light weight tyre. Anyone got any experience using Cushcore pro with Exo or equivalent casing tyres?
Been running Exo with Rimpact Pro on the ebike and the combo has been great. Taken some pretty hard bottom ours on rocks without incident. Don’t live in an area where sidewall cuts are a problem though, mostly smooth rock.
Not huge amounts of weight to be saved dropping from Exo+ though, just what was available at best price at the time.
Noticeably less draggy than Double Down casing with no insert and like you say, a lot more supple, plus I find it more grippy.
Cushcore xc with exo and I haven’t trashed a tyre since.
Are you on new or old Exo+? Quite a big difference!
Not Cushcore but Rimpact Pro with a combination of Exo and Exo+ which I'm trying to use up as they came fitted to bikes as OEM kit.
Have suffered splits and rim damage front and rear before inserts but they've been fine since. I actually really like the feel of a pliable tyre with an insert. There's something about it. It's a combination of mega grip with the safety of the rim protection, plus whatever an insert does to act as a volume spacer.
I've settled on High Roller up front because I have a pair of Exo ones. DHF or DHR on the back in Exo+.
When they're worn out I don't know if I'll buy Exo by choice. It's pushing my luck for the kind of riding I do.
I was thinking Exo front, Exo plus rear. To be honest I thought I was pushing my luck with Exo + but they’ve done a year of fairly serious abuse just fine.
