Just wondering if anyone has experience of using the Acros BlockLock Headset:

It's designed to limit the movement of the bars so they can't smack into the top tube in the even of a stack. I'm trying to lower the bars on a bike, but don't want my gear levers taking chunks out of the top tube. Thinking is that with one of these, I could go to a wide, flat bar and stick more weight on the front end of the bike without having to reduce fork travel, which is the other option.
Any input appreciated.
the trouble with acros headsets (well on canyon road bikes anyway) is the obscure unobtainium sized replacement bearings unless purchased at an extortionate price direct.
To be fair that does see to be part and parcel of modern bikes. It took me ages to find a replacement stainless top bearing for my cross bike, but you can usually find them eventually. Maybe one to check before buying though. Thanks for the thought.
Kiddo has one on his VPace. Works as intended.
Thanks. There seems to be a Ritchey equivalent also that's slightly cheaper, Lock Block no less.
Acros one with flat bar it is.
Totally agree about the issue with getting Acros bearings. YT Jeffsy here.
There's an eBay shop selling them for not insane money, but yes, the genuine Acros ones seem overpriced. Are they a particularly unusual spec?

I need an extra Crown race... German site plus shipping make it pricey!
