hi
anyone used activesport.co.uk
dont like the look of website and never seen them on searches i do, but im after a post clamp kit for reverb and everywhere is out of stock (only found 3 places who sell them )
cheers guys/gals
That's Mark Anthony Bikes, he is a total ****.
I used them recently, despite the horror stories as they were pretty much my only option
Quick delivery and exactly as ordered, FWIW
Google singletrackworld+mark+anthony or singletrackworld+activesport first!
iirc activesport's definition of "in stock" may mean they have it in stock, but it also might mean that they think they can order it in from distributor within a week or so. Definitely worth phoning and checking they have it first -if no one else has it in stock it is possible that fishers are out of stock too and activesport will be no more likely to get you one any time soon than any one else (and by the last few threads on here, they will properly give you the runaround and a load of excuses based somewhere within the possibilities of the bike trade but not necessarily true for your case 😉 )
cheers guys, i spoke to tftune who sell them and they said they were out of stock and have no date at all for any future delivey.
i made my mind up with website and the name, even more so now 😉
thanks again ill keep looking.
If carrying out a Google search, be aware that Activesport / "Mark Anthony" trades under many aliases. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the horror stories on bike forums (and there are some eye-watering ones if you have a spare half hour), but my experiences were consistent with the worst of them. While they reassured me that I'd be refunded for goods that were never delivered, the repayment never arrived. What followed was a litany of bare faced lies, contradictions, scams and threats so serious that I felt I had to contact the police as well as trading standards. Derbyshire Trading Standards (DTS) are well acquainted, having taken action over 10 times following dozens of formal complaints in recent years. Thankfully DTS found entirely in my favour, but I was still left out of pocket for legal expenses in preparing a small claims court action.
Incidentally be wary of Trustpilot; among other systematic flaws that could potentially bias their scores, with missing goods, you don't have the code needed to enter a negative review; unsurprisingly MA point blank refused to provide one. Meanwhile Reviewcentre warn readers about the independence and bias in reviews of MA, while there have been reports of unfavourable forum threads being closed under legal threats from their solicitors. And to be truly balanced, nor can I vouch for the authenticity of any positive reviews either.
But its your money & you're all big boys & girls, so don't let my bitterness, misery & financial losses put you off (does that keep you off my back, Mark's solicitor?).
Where as I bought 6 bikes for a business I had from them and they came within the week !!
He was a lying rude **** to me. I won't be using him again.
