Any tricks to using them? Put some up today and they are tricky to get the wheel in/out and not a chance of getting a 2.5 650b tyre in unless in doing something wrong??

I just put some up this weekend. I found you've got to angle the bike to the left to get that sized wheel/tyre in and out. What I struggled with was getting the hook not to flap around everywhere.

Stick it in a vice, and apply some brute force, you can bend it out to easily accommodate a 2.6.

I have similar hooks off Ebay, took the rubber sheath off (fnar) and cut the end back with an angle grinder.
Round the end off and resheath (fnar).

That was for 2.8" wheels on wide 650b rims.

Same as Jim - stick it in a vice and a wee bit of coaxing to open it up

Yep, as above bend the hook out to fit in a bigger tyre and jam something (I used a piece of rolled gorilla tape) into the hinge of the hook to hold it up at the ideal angle and not keep falling down

I had to cut about an inch off one of mine to get a 29*3 tyre on a 50mm*40mm carbon rim into it. Too fat and too deep.
