Seen a good deal on these with stans 3.3 hubs.. anyone tried them?
They weigh 1500g and can take a range of tyres up to about 35/38c.
They are for my new Ti tripster which could probably take a 1.8 /2 tyre.
Any thoughts?
I like the look if those as well use the rims on my road bike.
Saw comments about them not being up to much abuse and that velocity a23s were a better bet.
Im only a light weight.. 62kg
I believe there's two versions. The second one has a beefier spoke bed to stop nipples pulling through. Just check which they come with if they're old stock.
Said to be a bit flexible if used with a low spoke count but okay with 32.
All this is hearsay from when I was looking at them, I've not tried them myself.
I have some 340 I build with Dt 240s and all good so far but only done about 400-500 miles on them
I built mine 28 and 24 hole and not noticed any lack of stiffness but I'm only 58 kg
Mine are just for road use with 23/25 tyres
just bought some for my on one DD. they are comically light compared to the stock wheels. much faster. no dramas yet its 24h fr and 28h rr, and i weigh 80kg
I bought some of the first ones, and have cracked ome of the rims by the spokes. I did use them on my CX bike though.
62kg
Heres the link.. http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/stans-notubes-ztr-alpha-340-disc-wheelset-4755-p.asp
My only concern was taking them off road.
My other plan was to buy some chinese carbon rims but not sure..

I'm running hope hubs on Stan's iron cross rims .. All good in the hood 🙂
My only concern was taking them off road.
I'd check with him that they are 2nd gen rims.
iron cross is different though - better for tubeless and wider, but can't take as much pressure.
I considered them before getting my iron cross.
Apparently the old 29er 355 was a good bet as the beads were better for tubeless, but I can't find any anywhere anymore.
