Are they  any good .

Read some reviews that rate them in the dry but can't find much about them in the wet

They are ok in the wet but nothing special. I was amazed at their performance in the dry though. Mine was a forced purchase in the alps last summer as they were half the price of the maxxis

Got one on the rear of my bargain sommet frame

Rolls well

Weight is great

Protection so far fantastic with a rimpact

I did get the stronger of the 2 casings

So far it's holding up well in all but the  clay which round here nothing handles that

I think benji was running one and liked it

I have ridden them for about three years now. Like all Hutchinsons french made tyres the tubeless fit is great, easy to inflate at home with a track pump no bother. Nice supple side walls and fantastic grip on wet roots/rocks etc. The tread itself isn't as deep as something like a Magic Mary so in deep mud it won't be as good. But for an all round trail/fun tyre they are great.

Run them on my Big Al

1) Don't make the mistake I did and ignore the reviews and stick a 2.5 on the back. It's draggy. Now got 2.4 on the back (2.5 front) and it's much better

2) They seem to roll really well on hard pack

3) General grip seems good

4) Reviews say they are ok in all but the worst slop. But I've found even a bit of a slippy muddy surface results in terrible forward traction under pedalling. Looking at the shape of the knobs you can see why

5) Cushioning seems decent. There's something really comfy about my Big Al (alu HT) and some of it has to be down to the tyres. Running tubes 20f/18r

6) They look fab (if dark tan walls are your thing)

Bit of a mixed bag really. Would I buy them again? As a three season tyre, maybe. As a winter tyre, no.
