I like formula brakes and used to have a set of Oros. Currently looking to upgrade my Avid 3's and have seen a set of Formula C1s on CRC for cheap. Anyone used them at all on here?

They came as stock on my bike, one of the first things I took off. They're terrible to bleed and maintain.

Are they much cheaper than Shimano Deores?

Mine had a really inconsistent bite point so I've replaced them with XT. However, the ones on the Mrs bike are fine though

£100 for set. Although found a few reviews with yours and they don't sound too appealing. Will look for something else i think.

Yes, came on my Stumpjumper as standard. Can't fault them to be honest, no more difficult to bleed than an avid brake, easily adjusted and after a couple of winters they're still running absolutely fine.

Don't see what all the fuss is about tbh, I suspect some have replaced them without actually trying them first.

For £100 you could have my brand new CR1's with rotors 😉

Any LBS worth their salt who deals with Silverfish would sort any issues out 🙂
