Bike shop has recommended using one to stop the dreaded creaking? Do they work?
Carbon Anthem frame for reference. Had a quick measure and the bb width is around 91mm but the metal sleeves are stuck on the old Shimano BB71 at the mo until I can separate them and fix back in the frame.
Any pointers to which one I need for a Shimano crank for that width shell and internal diameter?

I have a wheels manafacturing pushfit BB on my specialized fuse. I recently replaced the bearings, removed and refitted the shell. Didn't creak on the run up to the bearings failing, hasn't creaked since refitting it. Thumbs up from me.

FWIW my Shimano pf one has never creaked in 5 years of use. It may not be the bb that's the problem.
Teflon tape may be an option too.

I use them on two of my bikes. No creaking for at least a year, then simply whip out the bb shell, regresse and put it back in.
Recomended.
I have 2 Wheels Mfg BBs - a 30mm and a 24mm - for me it's the fact that both ensure accurate bearing alignment, the bearings are inside a sealed tube, meaning they're not contaminated by water coming down the seat tube plus they have very good, secondary bearing seals, not just the bearing seals themselves.
It may not be the bb that’s the problem.
Indeed, I thought the BB on my Defy was the source of a creak which then disappeared when I changed the brake pads. I've no idea how that works but that's the thing with creaks it can be very hard to track them down and it's easy to blame the usual suspects. Having said that I think I may well go for the screw together option when I do need to change the BB
I replaced the BB on my Trance with a Wheels Mfg screw together jobbie after the dreaded creaking started and it has been excellent. As mentioned above the secondary bearing seals do a great job keeping the bearings dry and clean.
One will be going on my wife's Anthem soon as her BB has started to creak.

Bit of an update.
The bb and the Park spanner arrived today.
Having read the fitting instructions again it says to drift the drive side bearing into the bb which I'd missed.
Can I get away with using a socket to do the job as I don't fancy spending out anymore or if that's a bad idea can anyone lend me the appropriate press please?

I fitted mine with a headset press. No shims if memory correct. The paper work is very good with clear instructions.
Works really well - no creaks and easy to add more grease every so often.
Do they do one to replace a sram pressfit gxp BB?
While you're here, has anyone tried a screw in GXP?
They're $20 more than a SRAM GXP, but if they last longer than 6 months, it'll be worth it.
I've got a GXP one on my Dude (Carbon fatbike). Works well. Easy to fit and no creaks for the past year (unlike the original sram unit).

Cheers Wally, I hadn't noticed that the bearing sits in a way in the cup so yeah headset press will do it.
I decided to pony up the difference for one of these and it arrived today.
Quality looking bit of kit in that American made style. Will stick it in tomorrow after tonights rain ride, everything is nice and clean.
Unfortunately not had time to fit mine yet but agree it looks a quality piece of kit.
