I'm fed up of my CX bikes achilles heel, its BB30 PF BB 🙁
Bearings don't last long, it's never smooth for long, the preload gubbins of my SRAM Rival1 chainset is pants.
I've just seen this adapter:

That presses into the PF shell and allows an external type BB to be used with suitable cranks.
Anyone use one? Any creaking / rotation issues?

I’ve just fitted a rotor PF30 B.B. to suit shimano 24mm cranks. No creaks. Nicely made bit of kit.
I have one in my Orro, I probably wouldn't put one in a carbon frame as they are almost impossible to remove but can be cut out of alloy / steel frames , seems to work well although my creak seems to have moved!
Yep - I fitted one to my Roubaix. Been in since I had the bike (2 years now). Was one of the first things I did when I built the bike up (bought as a frame only)
Used a headset press and some loctite retaining compound and it’s been faultless and creak free for approx 5k miles now. Had a couple of BB’s in that time and no issues at all.

Cool. I'll dust off my old square taper Turbines then 🙂
I fitted one to a carbon Cannondale f29 frame.( It has an ali insert for a bb30 bracket). Had to grind off the lip inside of bb but it went in nice and tight and I have creak free xtr cranks fitted. Top tip I read from here was to put the adaptor in the freezer in a plastic bag for a few hours and put the frame in the sun. Just makes it a little less tight.
Another positive vote here. Fitted one to my Diverge. Solid as a rock and silent as the grave. (It did go in with Loctite, though, so it’s not coming out).
Just remember to get it the right way around.
Why didn't i find this product ages ago....
I have one of these fitted to three different bikes, has been great and very easy to install:
^^ aye, but ay canne fit ma square tapers to that canna ^^
