Zefal HPX - accept no substitute

they only really work with a pretty flat top tube though, or you need to many straps to hold them in place and stop them sliding down.

EDIT: Topeak equivalent is a pile of garbage IME.

Use ones from the Evans website, the cheap zefal iirc, on my commuter and my old school steel road bike

i can't use one anymore as the frame is the wrong shape, but HPX is the ONLY* choice.

Silca might do something that is acceptable, maybe not to your bank maanger!

My Zefal HPX fits great on my 4S, and it's a brilliant pump too.

My blackburn frame pump is going strong after years of abuse.

No pegs on my frame, but it's a proper horizontal top tube so doesn't need them.

As above Zefal, although old Silca's work well.

Another Zefal HPX user here. Don't bother with substitutes.

Hmmmmm, I recon it's time to move on. I've Zefal HPX's aplenty (they're on 4 bikes) but have just started using a Road Morph. It's better. It's easier to pump up tyres and there's no risk of bending the pesky presta end thingumybob or splitting the valve seat whilst wrangling the old HPX.

Get one and try it. You'll be converted forever 😉

Had one, threw it in the box of junk when its seals got sticky so it wasnt doing anything but get hot. Also, crouching down right next to your bike (because the hose is so short) and trying to put any decent pressure in sucks. And if your going to break a presta, it will be with the topeak, as the hose is so short its easy to pull on the valve while trying to place pump on the floor and keep your foot on it and hold the bike up. I still dont understand how people can break valves with direct connect pumps, some people have no mechanical sympathy (or brains).

Zefal HPX for the win (as others have said...)

@stato well it's wierd how individual experiences can be polar opposites...

I used to think HPX's were the dogs danglies until using friends Morphs. Can't speak for long term stickyness though, mine's only a few weeks old. I've kept my stash of illicit HPX's though - is just in case 😉
