Anyone use a DOS White Industries double freewheel? Tempted for the next project. Do you actually use it as intended once fitted?
Innit moron justa flea wheel? I thunks you run it with a double chain ring giving two gears both with the same chain length. Izzit?
Use one on my ss cx bike. works fine, double chainrings that are 2t apart you dont need to move wheel either really (just force it across). Normally use it with compact cranks and 38/42 rings, the 38/18 is good for offroad, the 42/16 for onroad, there is enough adjustment in dropout to take up the 1/2" slack difference between gears.
I'm thinking single chainring 1 for off road and 1 for getting there....
I run a WI 38/35 to 16/19 DOS.
Never use it as intended ... But have run both depending on main purpose of bike. So, 38/16 for commuting (on fat tyres) and 35/19 for slightly hilly offroad.
Friend that i ride with is running 2 cogs on his converted freehub-body, works very well.
