With the weather as dry and hot as it is, my gnarmac rides have been more off road than on, and as such, my Strada Biancas are getting a bit of a beating. Hampshire flints are evil!
So, am pondering something a little tougher, and these look to fit the bill,

Of course, they're skinwalls, and the fact that they're named after Jobst Brandt can't hurt, can it? He was riding gravel way before it was a thing!

Failing that, any other 700x30ish skinwall gnarmac tyres come more highly recommend?
Like the look of them
commuter tyres - they'll look rad on your old skool track fixie, innit
Helpful! 🙂
Anyone else?
Proper bike?
And the horse you rode in on, PMJ!
Finally fitted. Weight is pretty damned good. Went on with waaaaay less swearing than the Stradas they're replacing. So far only a quick blast up and down the lane and trails by Flash Towers, but they feel good.

Mudguards? Or are they to minimise UV damage to the treads? 😉
Yep. Mudguards.
It gets ridden whatever the weather, so they stay on! Admittedly, they've been rather surplus to reqs for a while!
Thought I'd update this now I've had a couple of decent rides on them.
In short - Good. Very good, in fact. Off road, in exceedingly dry and dusty trails, they have WAAAAAY more grip than the file pattern Strada Biancas they've replaced. On off camber sections, I could hold a lot more speed, and cornering with a lot more confidence. OK, they're still 30mm, so hardly up there with a MTB tyre, but for my intended use (60/40 road/gnarmac) they're excellent. No indications of flint cuts. Yet. They'll come, but first impressions are that these are a lot tougher, which is a good thing.
A little slower (perhaps*) on road sections, but negligible I'd say. I'm interested to see how they cope when it gets wet again, both on and off road.
All in all, a very good choice for the faster end of the gnarmac spectrum.
*Recent rides have been the day after some highly refreshed evenings, so it could just be me being slow!)
@Flashy, how do they size up?
Is the 30 a 30 width when mounted on your rim?
Where did you get them from?
thanks
