Normally I use a rack with a sleeping bag etc. in a waterproof stuff sack bungeed on, for multi day epics. However, I've noticed that [url= http://www.carradice.co.uk/products/other/bagman ]these[/url] weigh less and don't involve me scratching the frame with P-clips.
So the question is, has anyone used one off-road?
They are nominally 10kg rated but I intend putting less than half that in them. I can see issues with seatpost and saddle rail strength, so I'd be changing them to suit.

still s8tannorm uses one, seems to hold up alright.
I've used one with a saddle bag and like the contrast between 1930s and 2010s technologies.
I did swap out my carbon seat post as I didn't fancy biking home standing up with a saddlebag held in my teeth.
