Where did you get the tool? Is there an alternative tool to use?

Couldn't get hold of a tool. Ended up sending them back and getting a refund. Shame, great pedals otherwise

That sucks, I got mine new but second hand, so no return possible for me.

Try Specialized UK help desk, tool number is S155300007. They should know if its in stock to order and point you in the right direction.

Specialized UK have 35 of the tools in stock and any Specialized dealer can get you one for a tenner.

I wouldn't bother. had 3 sets between me and mates, all of them have gone stiff and it turned out to be the outer bearing race/holder that had cracked (its ridiculously thin) and Specialized don't carry spares of those.

Managed to get mine undone with circlip pliers easy enough, but the fact you cannot replace the small  needle bearing or its holder has really put me off. Its not even sealed very well.

great pedals and idea... when they are new.

Thanks all, I will track down the tool from Specialized. As a temporary fix I opened the trapdoor and sprayed in some GT85 and it is back to normal, I don't imagine that will last though.

That will just wash the grease out and you'll have a knackered bearing you cannot replace....

There can't have been any grease in there, they wouldn't turn!

I have.  Got the tool from a Specialized dealer - Mammoth, Milford Common, Staffordshire.  Tool easy to use and pedals very easy to service for me - no issues.
