I'm building a mountain bike for little smurf and she'll be using normal / adult bars (maybe cut down a little) and thin, light grips.
A close shave when cycling with her to the park last weekend suggested that she'd benefit from bar end plugs that have a larger diameter than the bars and grips (like you usually see on kids bikes but this larger piece often seems to be part of the grip itself).
This should help ensure her hands are always on the grips if she has a tumble / catches a tree etc.
Has anyone seen / used something like this? I don't really want different grips (as I've got some) - just the end plugs.
thanks
make some discs out of some thick rubber sheet held on by expanding type end plugs.
Ask at your LBS,they may have some spares knocking about that you could modify.
Flanged bmx grips put on inside out, odi ones come with end plugs as well.
Thanks for the ideas chaps
