That's for the remote, the standard lever is £150 🙂 bargainous.

There's a review here:

http://bikes-bikes-bikes.blogspot.com/2012/01/dsp-bighorn-adjustable-seatpost-short.html

I'm going to try to buy one, as they seem amazing value and look very robust.

In manufacturer quoted weight, the 420mm long DSP BigHorn is 70g heavier than a 355mm Reverb at 535g.

That's around 10% increase... but it the DSP is cheaper, and considering you're using a dropper post 70g isn't really top on the list of considerations for a dropper - i'd be thinking seals, speed of return and durability.

I'll be interested to hear of long term use on a DSP compared to a Reverb.

Ordered 31.6 x 420 from the germans for £178.45 including haulage, say its 2012, lets hope so ... we shall see its on its way. Cheaper than I've seen here though what price was Rosebikes ? Planet /On one have only 2011 versions , the chase continues.
Why in On one spec does it say bleed kit included and then lower down says 'no bleed kit supplied ' ?

Probably because they nicked the spec from the rockshox/another website without actually reading it. The posts themselves are probably OEM and I doubt will come with the bleed kit. Why not phone them and ask?

I tested the prototype Big Horn post for DSP and Loco Tuning at last year's BC Bike Race in Canada. It's an excellent post in my opinion and the advantages you get from using it far outweighs the extra weight it adds, especially during a race like the BC Bike Race (which includes very technical terrain). Being able to drop the post for the descents during the race was just brilliant and made racing so much more fun and enjoyable, rather than having to keep your saddle up by your shoulders all the time 😉

There will negligible lateral movement of the saddle, none that I noticed whilst riding, and drop and return times were fast. Had the post stick down on one occasion but I sorted this with a bit of lube. The remote lever is a bit industrial looking and isn't as pretty as the Reverb for example but didn't bother me, it does what it's meant to do.

Surprised when Simon @ Loco Tuning told me what the RRP was - much cheapness! I've got one on order 🙂

Cheapest place I've found is bike discount.de at 211 euros for 31.6 x 420, excludes bleed kit but found one on ebay for £15.

Anywhere cheaper?

Merlin says it doesn't include bleed kit, so bikediscount is still cheaper.
