Is anyone running a set?

How's long term usage? Or do they just fall apart like Crank brothers?

I love the feel and ease of clipping in and out of Crank brothers and time (time being favourite but just bust a pair)

The profile looks nice and slim on the horizon with plenty of platform too

I've read that they are like shimano to clip in and out of, which isn't my preferred way, but have owned loads of shimano before so it's not the end of the world

Price looks good, and rebuild kits available (unless they are useless like crankbrother ones)

I ran CLs and they were my favourites over Shimano, DMR and Crankbrothers. With their ramped cleats they clip in like CB but have steel cleat, which last, and adjustable tension so they wouldn't clip out when pushing hard in a corner. System is solid and the bearings and axles hold up well. Underrated pedal.

Very good pedals. Shimano cleat compatible, but their own cleats have ramps/chamfered edges that means you can clip in more like CB.

Been running a set for 2 1/2 years, bearings are still good.

Having come from 10 years on CB pedals, I prefer these to the Shimano ones on my other bike.

I've been using the CL's on one of my bikes for about 3 years now. In that time, they've had a battering, and absolutely zero maintenance! Been very impressed with them to be honest, and will order some more if/when these die...

Yes, they're more like a Shimano in use, but they're lighter and useable with more shoes than equivalent Shimano pedals due to the lower profile.

Wow 3 instant amazing reviews, very positive they feel similar to cb with their own clears and longevity seems pretty damn good reading them too

I don't want the bigger cl ones, but the Cs trail ones look about same size at mallet e.. Which I loved, but we're typical Crank brothers and fell apart after 6 months use by which time a rebuild kit does next to nothing!

That's positive stuff though and they are much cheaper than anything else out there comparitviely speaking (mallet e, time speciale 8 etc)

Does anyone own the grey colour ones? Are they actually grey or just silver?

Yeah theyre really good, got a pair of the trails and a pair of the dh. Had them since they first came out so no issues with longevity theyve been brilliant.

Never used their cleats though, didnt know they were different - will have to look at that next time.

Ah yes good spot, the grey seem more grey, than silver so will pass, was hoping more of a shiny silver finish like the top part of all the other colours

Sounds promising think I will take a punt on them for the money

Got two pairs (on my bike and juniors -black and blingy bronze) and they have been boringly fine. No maintenance at all and the cleats seem to last well.
Tried the XT trails and much preferred the Horizons as the sole of your shoe actually makes contact with the platform.

CS here. Rebuilt once in 2 years and it's dead easy. Like the action getting in and out and that's using SH51 cleats.

Only using the rear pins though.

Great pedals. I replaced bearings and bushings in both sets of mine recently. Both had had a proper hammering, the oldest in particular which are well over two years old. I found them slightly more difficult to clip into than the Shimano trail pedals I had before but not an issue once i got used to them. And the platform actually works, unlike the Shimanos.

Yo sam

Didnt know you ran them! That's promising indeed given your mileage and rock bashing

That's sealed it then I'll give them a shot

Is it really easy to service them and then they feel like new?

Easy enough to service, though getting the bushing out was a bit of a bastard, I bought the tool they sell in the end. But I like buying tools!

The older pair still have a little play, assuming I didn't change then soon enough and the axle is slightly worn. New axles are only a tenner if I was that bothered.

I had a pair and actually didn't get on with them, one of the pedals on one side had more tension for unclipping then the other side and pedal even on the lightest setting, the tension it had even on light was more than I usually run, it became a pain looking to only clip into one side and when Id forget to check which side I had clipped into it made me nervous on the trail actually as I couldn't get out of it naturally, I couldn't see anything obvious from tinkering so went back to my older pedals and had no issues.
