.....and how is it?
did you need to fit those eccentric headset cups to change the head angle afterwards?
I'm riding a 27.5 five (2017) and looking to make it feel a little shorter/faster turning on tight singletrack
Thanks, Andy
You could probably run a little more sag to achieve the same (I suspect undetectable) effect on the geometry and see if it does what you want before buying a wheel
Yes. It won't do what you are asking for necessarily, but it will lower the BB, and slacken of both head and seat angle. I ran my old Rocket275 like that for a while… all good, apart from battering the pedals more.
thanks for the replies chaps
I'm wary of lowering the BB any further unless I'm getting a big change (for the better!) in geometry
Try a shorter stem.
I'm running a 26" rear wheel, offset bushings and a -1.5deg headset. Seems to ride ok.
Shorter stem and move the saddle back. This moves your CoG backwards.
If anything it’ll make the bike less good at tight turns due to the lower BB and slacker head angle. Good for steep stuff though!
I run a 26" wheel in a 27.5" frame with no worries (learned to pedal round the odd strike) however the contact point of both wheels is the same (lengthwise) relative to the frame so it'll not have any impact with what you want
I’m really doing the opposite - 27.5” front wheel in a Liteville 301 Mk10. To be honest, I hardly notice any difference between that and a 26” front wheel, using the same forks (Marzocchi 350 NCR).
I might go back to the 26” wheel and the 55 RC3 Ti forks, as I think that they have the edge over the NCR’s.

Depending on frame size, that's the recommended set up. That's how I'm running my large 301. Also with NCRs.
Oh yeah, “scaled sizing” ....I’m actually using a 27.5” front wheel in a M 301, with those Marz. NCRs and a 26” front wheel with 55 RC3 Ti’s in a L 301. Maybe I should swap front ends around....
