Anybody going to be riding thetford tonight? Going over there to put some miles in tonight, not been there before so if anybody else is going to be making the most of the extra hour it would be good to catch up... provided you're not a rapist...

Was there on Saturday. Lime Burners is a mess, and the ridge and furrow is a killer on the back and ar*e.

Beaters was in good nick. Good for a bit of exercise, but that's about all.

Hmmmm, I was fearful this might be the case! Is there anything better close by? Live in Norwich during the week and need to make the most of being able to get out but the trails are a little uninspiring! Might be better off bringing my cross bike with me next time!

Cheers for the feedback!

Don't get me wrong, if it was on my doorstep I'd ride it regularly for fitness. It suffers from a lack of elevation, but the fact that it's flat means you never really coast, so it's good fitness.

The features the trails do have need to be ridden fast to be fun. Give it a go.

I was there on Monday. BCP side was fine. The bit around the Beast and Double Shocker also seemed fine.

Was there twice over the bank hol, lovely at the mo. Just a bit moist for most of it

Well I did a loop of the lime burner starting from the blue link from bcp. Was pretty dry for most of the loop, although a word of warning to anyone venturing there in the evening, it gets dark in the woods a lot earlier than in the open so go prepped with lights! Some mud still to be found in the bigger puddle holes. Not bad for fitness purposes and the dark makes some of the features trickier as riding lumps blind can be interesting... Beast was probably my favourite section, not sure if it would give the same thrills in the light though. Didn't see anyone else out, did see lots of deer though.

Hey Jamie, I'm no longer a Norwich dweller but I'll be back visiting folks from tomorrow up until Friday, so besides Thetford I'd also suggest you check out Bacton Woods (North Norfolk) and Holt Country Park. Neither are trail centres but they do offer a few hills and some natural trails.
