Trying to decide if it is worth chucking a bike on the car or not. Have no idea where to head to, but would need to be on the south side of the city if possible. Cambridge mtb seem to only meet mid week

Thanks in advance for any advice

Not going to be riding, but if you want a route in the south try the roman road that heads south-east from the Gog Magog golf course. It's nothing special but one of the few rides near Cambridge!

Thetford forest's only 40 mins away if you have a car? Otherwise, what burntsandwich says.

Burntsandwich

Does it just head out to Linton and back? Don't really have the time to head to Thetford and back so was looking for something closer to Cambridge itself

It runs along to Fulborn and Balsham, and then my map runs out so I don't know how much further it goes! I've only taken it as far as Balsham before looping back, either along the roman road or along some of the other roads and bridleways nearby.

Here's the tour of the corn fields route, you may be able to lift something from that.

Was that on a SS? Your cadence thing looks very weird! I know a few bits of that one as an ex used to live in Kingston (long time ago!)
