Doing some research before our trip at the end of the month and have been looking at maps and potential routes... and this looks pretty good.
Any experiences or advice?
We have done it from the top back to the village at the bottom in a very roundabout way all offroad and had a great time but have no idea of the route we took as had a local showing us the way .
We drove to the top then on the bikes we went left up some more
then down and across the valley and up the other side followed by what seemed like descending forever.
then I got to rag a Rabbit R32 back to the top to collect my van

That looks like the one, seen the off road zig zags on the map. Think it goes:
Stelvio - Pass Umbrail - Punta Forcola - Lago Di Cancano
Cant do the R32 thing but we are taking a heavily modified XT600 supermoto for the van pick up..

Yep those names ring a bell .
we had one guy broke his toe when a stone flicked up from the bike in front and anothers bike went down about 600 ft and he had to do most of the descending with only the front brake .
I had a helmet cam on but the bugger malfunctioned and I found out at the bottom 😥
some fair old pushing to do but well worth the effort .
